Ingredients
- Boneless skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-size pieces — 1360 g
- Garlic salt — 0.5 tbsp
- Black pepper — 1 tbsp
- Cornstarch — 0.25 cup
- Vegetable oil (for frying) — 2 tbsp
- Honey — 0.5 cup
- Soy sauce — 0.25 cup
- Ginger paste — 1 tbsp
- Minced garlic — 2 tbsp
- Sesame seeds
- Green onions, sliced
Steps
- Season the chicken: in a large bowl combine the bite-size chicken pieces with the garlic salt, black pepper, and cornstarch; toss until well coated (add a little extra cornstarch if you want it crispier).
- Cook the chicken: heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the chicken in batches so you don't overcrowd the pan and cook until browned on both sides and lightly crusted; remove each batch and set aside.
- Make the sauce: return all the cooked chicken to the skillet, then pour in the honey, soy sauce, ginger paste, and minced garlic; toss everything together to combine.
- Simmer: let the chicken simmer in the sauce for a few minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and becomes sticky and coats the chicken.
- Finish & serve: sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions, and serve over white rice with a vegetable on the side if desired.
