- small red onions, chopped
- of garlic, chopped
- ripe tomatoes, peeled and chopped
- tomato paste, dissolved into a teacup of water
- olive oil
- a glass of red wine
- cinnamon stick
- whole cloves, or a pinch grounded
- a pinch of sugar
- bucatini spaghetti or plain spaghetti if you can’t find it
- salt and freshly ground pepper
- grated cheese to serve
