Little doughnuts like these are found in many bakeries in France. They are a much-loved treat! After making these yourself you will find it hard to go back to buying them again! It's a fairly simple bread, the only hard part is shaping the tiny dough pieces into balls.

  • For the dough: 250g White bread flour
  • Whole milk
  • Egg
  • Fresh yeast
  • Salt
  • Caster sugar
  • Butter in small cubes or pieces For frying: 700g Vegetable oil
  • For crème pâtissière: 6 Egg yolks
  • Plain flour
  • Cornflour
  • Milk For the sugar dusting: 200g Caster or icing sugar
