- tablespoon kosher salt
- large eggs
- honey
- unsalted butter
- all-purpose flour
- teaspoons ground cinnamon
- teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
- teaspoon ground allspice
- teaspoons orange zest
- teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- currants or raisins
- Egg wash: 1 egg yolk plus 1 tablespoon water
