Apple, Rum, Raisin and Date Traybake with Rum Syrup

- SOAK THE FRUIT
- In a bowl, combine raisins and chopped dates with dark rum and water
- Cover and let soak at room temperature overnight or at least 8 hours. The fruit

- In a medium saucepan, combine chopped apples, water, and lemon juice
- Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until apples break down completely
- Mash with a potato masher or fork until smooth. Add sugar if desired

- MAKE THE TRAYBAKE
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment pap
