Best app to save recipes from TikTok: tested cases
TikTok recipe import is not one capability. Photo posts, videos with complete captions, voiceover-only videos, and non-recipe posts require different evidence. This guide reports only the TikTok cases we actually verified and leaves unrun products unscored.
Disclosure: This page is published by CookbookSocial. CookbookSocial is included where relevant, and product claims are limited to documented, repeatable tests.
How the TikTok apps were checked
The fixed set contains a TikTok photo post with a full recipe in its caption, a TikTok video with a complete quantified caption, and a non-cooking video used as a hallucination guard. Source IDs link directly to the public posts. Ingredient coverage, cooking-action coverage, strict quantity fidelity, unsupported content, attribution, and rejection behavior are scored separately.
CookbookSocial's Loaded Deep Dish Pizza and non-cooking control were submitted manually in a clean signed-out production browser on October 11, 2026. Creamy Chicken & Gnocchi is a previously completed production import read back without modification; its public caption was independently refreshed through the production source extractor without cookies on October 13. CookingGuru's non-cooking control was submitted in a separate clean anonymous browser on October 12; its Creamy Chicken & Gnocchi result was captured by the user on October 16, although the screenshots do not expose account state or conversion charging. ReciMe's Loaded Deep Dish Pizza and non-cooking control were submitted once each in a clean guest web session on October 13; its Creamy Chicken & Gnocchi result was captured by the user on October 17, with account state and exact source-link destination outside the screenshots. CookClip's Loaded Deep Dish Pizza and non-cooking control were submitted once each by the user in the native iPhone app on October 13. Its corrected user-operated Creamy Chicken & Gnocchi capture from October 17 visibly preserves the exact TikTok URL, title, serving count, duration, ingredients, and method before saving. Paprika's Loaded Deep Dish Pizza result was captured by the user in the Windows app on October 17; the screenshot exposes the recipe fields and exact URL but not the Paprika version or import engine.
TikTok recipe import results
On the tested photo recipe, CookbookSocial, ReciMe, CookClip, and Paprika Windows extracted the full structured recipe. ReciMe, CookClip, and Paprika preserved all 19 strict source quantities, while CookbookSocial preserved 18. ReciMe and CookClip added unsupported serving counts; Paprika left servings and all duration fields blank. Paprika retained the exact URL and Tiktok.com domain but did not show the creator, and its captured version is unknown. CookbookSocial retained attribution but added one unsupported optional-preparation step. Samsung Food displayed an explicit import error and an empty manual form without hallucinated content. CookingGuru documents TikTok photo posts as unsupported, so that subtype was not counted as its failure.
On the complete-caption chicken-and-gnocchi case, five of the six tested importers retained the full caption recipe content. CookbookSocial, CookingGuru, ReciMe, and CookClip exposed structured recipe results. Samsung Food instead showed all 16 ingredients, 11 strict source quantities, four method sections, 30 minutes, and 2 servings inside retained description text; the screenshots do not establish structured ingredient or instruction fields. Paprika returned Error Processing Recipe and no visible recipe content, making this a positive-source technical failure without hallucination. ReciMe and Samsung Food added metric equivalents to 8 quantities, and CookClip to 7, while retaining imperial amounts. CookbookSocial and CookingGuru visibly retained the creator; ReciMe, CookClip, and Samsung Food did not show Alex Cook Joy. On the non-recipe control, CookbookSocial, CookingGuru, CookClip, and Samsung Food explicitly rejected the source without visible fabricated recipe content. Paprika also created no visible recipe, but returned the generic Error Processing Recipe rather than an explicit non-recipe decision. Samsung Food retained the source caption and dog image in an unsaved manual form. ReciMe avoided invented content but saved a blank My Recipe and displayed a malformed source URL instead of rejecting it.
TikTok import scope and evidence rechecked October 17, 2026
| App | Documented TikTok scope | Tested here | Free-limit context | Current evidence boundary |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CookbookSocial | Public TikTok videos and photo posts | Loaded Deep Dish Pizza photo recipe, a non-cooking control video, and the complete Creamy Chicken & Gnocchi video-caption recipe | Free accounts start with 5 AI-import credits | Three production results; voiceover-only TikTok remains untested in this guide |
| CookingGuru | TikTok video posts; photo posts are explicitly unsupported | The non-cooking control and complete Creamy Chicken & Gnocchi video-caption recipe | 2 anonymous conversions per 30 days or 5 per month after sign-up | Creamy Chicken & Gnocchi reached 16/16 ingredients, all four method sections, and 11/11 strict quantities; the non-cooking control was correctly rejected |
| ReciMe | TikTok videos and photo posts were accepted by the web importer | Loaded Deep Dish Pizza, the non-cooking control, and Creamy Chicken & Gnocchi | The current free plan documents 5 imports every 7 days | Both recipe imports were strong complete results; Creamy Chicken & Gnocchi reached 16/16 atomic ingredients, all four method sections, and 11/11 strict quantities, while the non-cooking control became a blank saved recipe instead of an explicit rejection |
| CookClip | TikTok videos and photo posts are accepted by the native importer | Loaded Deep Dish Pizza photo recipe, a negative-control video, and the complete Creamy Chicken & Gnocchi video | Free plan allows 5 AI imports | Both recipe cases were complete and the negative control was explicitly rejected; the chicken-and-gnocchi result retained 11/11 strict quantities and added 7 metric equivalents |
| Samsung Food | Three tested TikTok URLs reached the authenticated web importer, but no general TikTok support claim is inferred | Loaded Deep Dish Pizza, the non-cooking control, and Creamy Chicken & Gnocchi | Core app is free; Food+ pricing is localized at checkout | The photo recipe failed, the non-cooking source was rejected, and the complete video caption was retained in description text with full content but without verified structured ingredient or instruction fields |
| Paprika Windows | Paprika 4 documents social import as beta; the captured Windows version was not visible | Loaded Deep Dish Pizza photo recipe, non-cooking control, and Creamy Chicken & Gnocchi caption recipe | Windows lists a $29.99 purchase and a 50-recipe trial without sync | The photo recipe produced a complete structured result, the control failed safely, and the positive video failed technically; three captures do not establish broad TikTok support or whether the runs used Paprika 3 stable or Paprika 4 beta |

| Creamy Chicken & Gnocchi | Video with a complete quantified English recipe in the caption | Creamy Chicken and Potato Gnocchi: 16/16 ingredients, all source actions, 0 unsupported ingredients or steps | 10/11 strict quantities because 1 tbsp butter became 15 g; result reused from an existing production job |

Which TikTok recipe app should you test first?
For the Loaded Deep Dish Pizza TikTok photo post, ReciMe, CookClip, and Paprika Windows preserved the 25–30 pepperoni range and reached 19/19 strict quantities, while CookbookSocial reached 18/19. ReciMe and CookClip added unsupported serving counts; Paprika correctly left servings and duration blank, but did not show the creator or app version. CookbookSocial retained attribution but added one unsupported optional-preparation step. Samsung Food failed to import the positive recipe but did not hallucinate content, while CookingGuru explicitly excludes that subtype. For the negative control, CookbookSocial, CookingGuru, CookClip, and Samsung Food explicitly rejected the post. Paprika failed safely without fabrication but used a generic processing error rather than identifying a non-recipe; Samsung Food retained source metadata in an unsaved manual form, while ReciMe left a blank saved entry.
For the complete-caption Creamy Chicken & Gnocchi video, CookbookSocial, CookingGuru, ReciMe, and CookClip produced faithful structured recipes. Samsung Food preserved the full caption recipe inside description text, but its structured fields were not established. Paprika failed with a generic processing error and no hallucinated recipe. CookingGuru, ReciMe, CookClip, and Samsung Food preserved 11/11 strict source quantities versus CookbookSocial's 10/11 after equivalent butter-unit normalization. ReciMe and Samsung Food displayed metric equivalents beside 8 imperial quantities and CookClip beside 7, so this benchmark does not claim that unit conversion is unique to CookbookSocial; CookbookSocial's distinction is locale-normalized structured output rather than a dual-unit display. CookbookSocial and CookingGuru visibly retained the creator, while ReciMe, CookClip, and Samsung Food did not. CookbookSocial remains the broader starting point in this set because it also handled the TikTok photo recipe that CookingGuru explicitly does not support and that Samsung Food failed to import, while explicitly rejecting the negative control that ReciMe saved as a blank recipe.
